Collin Fredette

I am a Game Designer who is always looking to improve and expand upon my knowledge and skillset. For years I had an interest in learning how games were made and the reasons behind certain design decisions. It is one of the reasons I decided to learn more about game development. I aspire to work as part of a team that creates fun and unique experiences for players.

I graduated from the State University of New York (SUNY) in Canton with a B.S. in Game Design and Development. The program there provided me with opportunities to learn game programming and design, as well as some basic knowledge of 3D modeling and animation. But most importantly I was granted opportunities to work as a part of a team collaborating to fulfill a greater goal.

I am interested in all aspects of game design as I believe it is some of the most thought provoking work one can do. From considering another’s perspective when given certain choices, to constructing interesting levels and environments, to designing gameplay systems and mechanics that provide players with freedom and interesting choices that keep them coming back to the game.

Some of my favorite games include Destiny 2, Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, God of War (2018), and Monster Hunter World. Whether it’s with their gameplay, environments, or story these games have captivated me and have given me experiences that I still think about to this day. These are the types of experiences that I aspire to create as a Game Designer myself.
